Spring is here and we are all anxious to get back to normal activities here at the History Center and the Pioneer Village. Visitors have started pouring in and we are getting some donations of some really good historical objects for our collections and exhibits. We are now open 3 days a week and hopefully more by this summer. The Pioneer Women have decided to do a Quilt Exhibit of their own quilts and those in the Curator's area. This will be a smaller show, but they hope to get back to normal by next year in 2022. We are looking for volunteers to be in the Pioneer Village this summer to talk to visitors or demonstrate their crafts. We have visitors from all over and some from other countries, all just love Brown County.
The Archives has a big project coming up this year. We have partnered with Family Search to have all our Probate Records scanned and made available on the familysearch.org website for genealogists to download. That was our one request to them, to make these free to the public. We are now going through the Probate files and organizing them by date, so if you want to come by and help please let us know. We are here on Tuesdays and Fridays.
If other places aren't quite fully open yet, you can always come by the History Center and spend a nice afternoon here and walking around the beautiful town of Nashville. We hope to see you soon.
